The Griff USB Microphone is a USB class compliant 384KHz microphone. When paired with an iOS or MacOS device, this microphone outputs 384KHz/16-bit signal via the USB micro port. It has the audible quality and and reliability found in the PippyG, and PiPistrelle, now in a pure USB format.
In the shape of the fan favourite Griff the Superstar Noctule, the electronics are protected by a simple backplate, that could be fashioned to attach to something. Some keen early adopters can be seen walking the Wiltshire plains, sporting a "Griff Hat".
Another great reason to choose this microphone over others on the market? We are constantly improving our firmware, and even have some in the community msking homemade versions. So for those keen firmware developers, we allow the devices to be reprogrammed easily with an onboard button.
Who is this device perfect for? Anybody interested in learing about bats, or showing friends and family how we monitor bat calls. We reccomend to use this device with an iOS device with OS 15.8 minimum. We have had great success with iPad 10 (2020) onwards. These can often be picked up easily from second had shops.
